Centre’s PM Ujjwala Yojana Barnala for 21,912 Free LPG Connections

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) was launched by PM Modi in the current financial year. Under this scheme, women of poor families were provided gas connections without taking any security money.

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) Barnala Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) is being implemented across the nation. In that order, this scheme has been launched in Barnala. The government will distribute 21,912 free LPG connections to the women of poor families of Barnala which come under the Below Poverty Line (BPL). Such women use poisonous fuel for the cooking like dung cakes, wood, kerosene etc. which is very harmful to their and their families health. In order to avoid this, the PM Ujjwala Yojana has been launched.

The main motto of this scheme is to provide a smoke-free and healthy environment to the women across the nation. The women of poor families who do not afford a gas connection uses various methods for cooking which causes smoke and harmful gasses which is harmful to women’s health. Such women will be provided gas connections under this scheme.

The central government will distribute gas connections and gas pipes where state government of Punjab will distribute stoves to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Barnala.

District DC, Bhupinder Singh Roy said that about 1 crore families have left their subsidy at the request of Prime Minister Modi. The government has decided that they will distribute free LPG connections from this subsidy amount to the women of poor families.

The government will provide free gas connections to Blue card holder under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Barnala.
