The BJP lead Central Government has decided to launch its ambitious scheme ‘Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY)’ in Karnataka. The Karnataka State Government has decided to launch its Anil Bhagya Scheme.
The Karnataka Government’s Anil Bhagya Scheme offers free gas connections to BPL card holders. It will be launched from one of the backward districts of the Hyderabad-Karnataka region.
The PM Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) beneficiaries are selected on the basis of socio-economic caste census (SECC) 2011 data. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah launched the ‘Anil Bhagya Scheme’ likely to Central’s PMUY scheme in the 2017-18 budget, wherein it was promised that all BPL card holders who don’t get covered under Ujjwala would get a free gas connection under Anila Bhagya.
The Congress government has decided to provide about 1 crore free gas connections to all BPL families the opportunity under of Anil Bhagya Scheme whether eligible for the Ujjwala scheme or not.
