Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Delhi – The Union Natural Gas and Petroleum Minister Mr. Dharmendra Pradhan launched the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) in Delhi. Dharmendra Pradhan started this in Yamuna Sports Complex, located at Vivek Vihar. In this program, gas connections were given to one thousand families of Vishwas Nagar assembly constituency. Omprakash Sharma, the local legislator chaired by the program, said that in a week the gas cylinders and Chulhas will be provided to all the families.

During the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Delhi launching program, Dharmendra Pradhan gave PM Ujjwala Yojana Gas Kit to 5 Women on the stage. Apart from this, PNG Gas connection also started in Vishwas Nagar Assembly in which the ten holders were given the stove.
During the launching program of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Delhi, Dharmendra Pradhan said that while the previous governments had given only 13 crore gas connections from 1957 to 2014, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government gave about 9 Crore new connections in four years. In this, 3.60 Crore connections were given to the rural and BPL card holders under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
MLA Omprakash Sharma said that for a long time applications were being made from those people who have no gas connections in their assembly constituency. Their applications were sent to the ministry. These families were selected after the survey. At the same time, MP Mahesh Giri said that under the scheme, gas connections will be given to ten thousand people in their constituency in the next three months.
Mahesh Giri, Member of Parliament, East Delhi, O P Sharma, MLA, Vishwas Nagar, Sanjiv Singh, Chairman, IndianOil, senior officials of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Oil Marketing Companies, women beneficiaries of the scheme among others were also present on the occasion.
