Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Tripura – The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tripura Mr. Biplab Kumar Deb made an announcement related to the central government’s ambitious scheme Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY). He announced that the Tripura Government will provide one Lakh LPG Connections to the poor people of the state under PM Ujjwala Yojana. He announced that these 1 Lakh LPG connections will be distributed by the next 100 days.

The Tripura government has taken this decision as a part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mission of smoke-free India.
CM Deb made this announcement while he was Flagging off an awareness campaign of the scheme in a motorized vehicle. During the program, CM said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched PM Ujjwala Yojana long back but Tripura is yet to avail the full benefit of the scheme because the previous government had failed to propagate such benevolent initiative of the central government.
CM said that, currently, about 53.68 percent of the families have LPG connections in the state and poor families stake is only a few thousands. Tripura has registered more than 67 percent households living below poverty line (BPL).
